The Crump Cup is an invitational golf tournament for amateurs. The first tournament was held in 1922. It is named George Arthur Crump,and is played on the grounds of Pine Valley Golf Club, which Crump founded. [1] The final round has traditionally held on the last Sunday in September.

The USGA Men’s State Team Championship, as well as the Women’s State Team Championship, grew out of the Association’s Centennial celebration in 1995. It was believed that a new championship, one in which each state could be represented by non-college, amateur golfers, was a good way to cap the USGA’s year-long birthday celebration. In enthusiasm and fine golf, the State Team Championship proved such a success that it has been instituted to return every two years.

In 1981, the USGA inaugurated its first new championship in 19 years, the U.S. Mid-Amateur. The Mid-Amateur, for amateur golfers of at least 25 years of age, provides a formal national championship for the post-college amateur, for whom the game is truly an avocation.
